WHEN AND WHERE
On Sunday, April 7 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is activating 3.1 miles of Peachtree Street for Atlanta Streets Alive - Central, connecting South Downtown to Midtown through the heart of the city. The street will be closed to cars and open for people to walk, roll, bike and play!
KICKOFF PARADE
The fun kicks off in Midtown, at the intersection of Peachtree Street and 16th Street at 1:30 pm where you can join in the official opening of the street followed by a parade of the route. The lineup begins at 1:30 pm for a 2:00 pm parade launch and street opening program. FREE bike decorations will be available while supplies last!
EXPLORE
After the opening program and kickoff parade, visit Activity Partners and Route Hosts along the route for a wealth of interactive experiences hosted by community organizations, local businesses, and our sponsors. You can explore the Open Street from end to end or enter and exit the route at any cross-street at any time during the four-hour activation.

The Central route is accessible by foot and other human-powered modes of transportation. Did you know that South Downtown, Downtown, and Midtown are considered to be three of the top 10 most walkable neighborhoods in Atlanta?!
Atlanta Streets Alive is more than a day of fun. Through this advocacy initiative, we create an environment we hope will evolve into tangible, communal changes – including infrastructure changes. All streets in Atlanta should be safe for everyone to use.
In recent years, Peachtree Street has consistently attracted over 100,000 people who roll, walk, bike, skate (and, yes, now scoot) through Midtown, Downtown, and South Downtown during each Atlanta Streets Alive. All of this mobility and demand has demonstrated to City leaders that Peachtree Street is ready for its next act. Now, imagine if every who attended Atlanta Streets Alive showed up at City Hall and demanded safer complete streets!
We want to see changes. Political willpower can get things done. Sign up for our Advocacy Update to learn more.
